1. What is the Master degree in Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution (CMDR) Program?
The CMDR Program is designed for working adults who seek a graduate degree concentrating on resolving disputes and managing conflict in numerous settings. The CMDR Program will also provide opportunities for students to acquire new skills and refine existing skills in actual practice settings under the supervision of experienced mentors. Coursework is designed to enhance students’ understanding of their professional and ethical responsibilities and to help them to resolve ethical dilemmas in conflict management and dispute resolution practice situations. CMDR Program requirements meet and exceed professional standards of practice adopted by professional organizations, court systems, government agencies and private employers.

3. Will I be “Certified by the State”?
Currently, there is no ‘dispute resolution certification’ in Kansas or Missouri. However, Kansas, as well as many other states, does have an approval program for mediators who want to receive court appointed casework.
